GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Goals

Pledger Orthopedic & Spine Center (POSC) will provide a multi-disciplinary approach for patients having physician symptoms related to the spinal and neurological systems. Predicated on thorough triage and a conservative yet effective approach to care, POSC will emphasize (1) timely service, (2) measurable predictable outcomes, (3) cost effectiveness, and (4) clinical protocols.

POSC will facilitate patient education in self-management and prevention of spinal disorders. Patients who continue to have symptoms post-conservative treatment will receive state-of-the-art surgical solutions. For patients who do not improve, or the improvement is not optimal, a comprehensive pain management program will be available.

Objectives

  • Develop a multi-disciplinary spine care program that delivers care for patients, works collaboratively with third party payers, and to responsibly manage healthcare resources.
  • Formalize a network of providers both internally and externally.
  • Manage the episode of care via clinical pathways through a care management program.
  • Affiliate with area providers and hospitals.
  • Eliminate the out-migration of patients seeking care.
